Homes destroyed, lives changed forever, a Chihuahua offers HOPE to those in shelters displaced by Earthquake and Tsunami. Sitting around the space heater watching their child play with the dog and laugh allows them to smile and believe that they can rebuild their lives that there is hope for a future.
Not all pets are as lucky as this one to he with its family in the shelter. Many were left behind to fend for themselves in the few minutes before the wall of water came crashing into their homes as they escaped to higher ground. While this shelter has allowed pets to come with their families many shelters in the destruction area are not set up to house pets with the throngs of people seeking shelter from the elements.
