Mystery Cat On Governors Island: MyFoxNY.com
Security guards found the cat on the North Shore of Governor's Island's. Its fur was salty, matted and caked with seaweed. It is believed that this Calico little girl someone got swept away by a downpour in New Jersey and managed either by finding debris or by swimming make it to the Island. Either way the cat swam a distance of about a mile pretty impressive for an animal that doesn't like water.
Since being found the little girl has been cleaned up and is enjoying her new home on Governor's Island where she is the start attraction at the moment. Staffers say the calico is a great addition to the 172-acre island but will welcome any leads that would help find the owner. Information on how the owner of the cat can contact them is on the video. Even if her owner is not found it looks like she has a fantastic new home with lots of space to run and play and plenty of people to pay attention to her.
