It's time to mark another victory for the Pet Blogging community. Apparently the Dog Wars app is no longer being sold by Android. They heard your voice and decided it was not worth keeping it around! It was through such strong outrage from Pet Lovers that the game was pulled. For those who don't know what I am talking about on Monday there was a strong Push by Pet Bloggers and others in the Pet Social Media Community to sign a petition to get rid of an Android App where the player would trainer for and fight in virtual dog fights.
Apparently the creators of the game just don't get it. They had this to say when asked about puling the game. The creators of Dog Wars noted that, while they appreciated the free speech against the app, the same free speech should allow it. Not to mention, they point out, the most popular mobile game going is one where people catapult birds at bricks. While I know nothing about Angry Birds it doesn't seem to be the same thing at all. One desensitizes people to the brutality and horrific nature of dog fighting which is illegal to participate in and the other is a made up game.
