Learn About Stumble Me / Digg Me Thursdays

I am introducing this event a week before I start putting up the Linky tool for everyone to add their post to in order for everyone to have time to sign up for a StumbleUpon.com Account and download the toolbar. It is also a good idea to visit Digg.com and set up an account there so you can participate in both places in hopes of driving traffic to your blog.

What is Stumble Upon?

StumbleUpon helps you discover and share great websites. As you click

Stumble!, StumbleUpon delivera high-quality pages matched to your personal preferences. These pages have been explicitly recommended by your friends or one of 8 million+ other websurfers with interests similar to you. Rating these sites you like (

) automatically shares them with like-minded people – and helps you discover great sites your friends recommend.

How Does it Work?

StumbleUpon uses

/

ratings to form collaborative opinions on website quality. When you stumble, you will only see pages that friends and like-minded stumblers have recommended. This helps you discover great content you probably wouldn’t find using a search engine.

What is Digg?
Digg is a place for people to discover and share content found on the web. From the biggest online destination to the most obscure blog, Digg surfaces the best stuff as voted on by our users. You won’t find editors at Digg — we’re here to provide a place where people collectively determine the value of content. In doing so, we’re changing the way people consume information online.

What’s the best way to find interesting stuff on Digg?
Digg is organized into groups of categories based on topics. First, go to the homepage, where you’ll find the best of the best according to the Digg community. From there, click around on some of the topics listed at the top (Technology, World & Business, etc.) and you’ll see the top stories in each individual category.

If you’re more of the get in early type, check out our expansive Upcoming section for stories that haven’t been promoted yet. You can also sort content by News, Images, and Videos.

Each week we will post 2 Linky's on Thurday morning at 9am. The first one you will put in a link directly to your post of choice. Everyone is then asked to both Stumble the Post which should take all of 30 seconds to use your tool bar to stumble and then check to make sure it took and then to. The second linky tool will be to submit your Personal Submission Site. Participants will be asked to Digg your most recent submission. The Link to your submission page looks like this http://digg.com/felissahadas/submissions

1. Add your link to the specific blog post that you would like people to stumble on the weekly linky. It needs to be a link to an actual post and NOT your main site. Please do not list giveaways. It is also best if you ask everyone to stumble a meaningful post or something cute and entertaining. If the post is boring people will not stumble it and give it a thumbs up once it is in the system which defeats the entire purpose of this event.

2. Make sure to come by at the end of the day in order to Stumble through everyone's posts you want as many people to stumble your posts please return the favor. Before you click over to the next post you want to stumble be sure to check to make sure that your stumble went through by clicking on the “Info” icon. Then leave a comment on their post letting them know that you stumbled their post. The great thing about Stumble Upon is that it is fast and easy to do with the Stumble Upon toolbar.

3. Remember LINK TO AN ACTUAL POST, links to giveaways and man pages will be removed from the linky tool.

4. If you would like to list more then one post during a week please only post one at a time and come back later to post the next link.

5. PLEASE DO NOT ADD YOUR LINK IF YOU AREN’T GOING TO STUMBLE or DIGG ANY POSTS.

6. Please submit new content each week. Once someone stumbles or Diggs your post once they cannot do so it again so you would just be wasting your time and everyone else's by submitting it again.

7.If you are the first person to Stumble a post, PLEASE take a minute to read the post and fill out the Stumble Upon review page. This is a one shot deal so if you don’t fill it out, that particular post will never get the same opportunity again. While it is nice to leave a comment when you Digg something and think others would enjoy it, doing so is not manadatory.

Feel free to post about Stumble Me / Digg Me Thursdays on your blog and help us spread the word. The more people that participate the better it will be for your blog. You can receive a ton of traffic by having one of your posts take off in either of these two places.venues.Help yourself while helping friends.

Have fun with it and let’s discover some great posts and awesome blogs while showing the love to everyone.
