Virgil ...nicknames GummyBear, HEAD (ok he is all head on a tiny body), Snuggle Bunny, so you are probably looking at the pictures saying, "these are names for a pit bull?"

Yes... he is such a sweet polite guy- its amazing ! Why, you might ask was he at the shelter? Just another dumped dog for no reason . Virgil is great with my house kitties, people, larger kids (I write larger for he is a bit strong and can easily bump over smaller children), he takes treats so softly it makes people giggle. He has no food problems at all.
This is one awesome dog needing a home. Why is he still available? Well he has been with me for a while, and I really do not know why, other than the market is flooded with dogs needing a home, and pit bulls are even more out there needing homes.

Virgil is fully vetted, with shots, heartworm preventive , microchipped, neutered, and very healthy. He isn't a big dog but weighs about 60 pounds. We all laugh that 20 pounds of that is on his shoulders.
He knows "sit" "down" " leave it" "take it nice" "come" and walks well on a leash, but does tend to turn on his strength when he sees something interesting (like squirrels!) , he is crate trained and is very polite in the house.

There isn't a person he meets that isn't his friend. He is an athletic dog and does need reinforcement in the yard when out alone for potty calls, for tall fences are no match for his abilities to have to go and stare at squirrels.

Virgil does not really care for dogs he doesn't know, he avoids them and just wants to be with his human. Due to this I think he would be best as a single pit bull. He might be ok with a smaller dog or a soft dog. He isn't dog aggressive but just "dog I don't care!" .

Dogs he doesn't know , or big bold dogs seem to just make him scared or nervous. I know he doesn't look like a dog that would be scared, but he really is very sensitive and sweet!!! He is even afraid of the dark! Silly dog that he is!

I tell folks that I guarantee that Virgil will make you giggle out loud every day with his sweet bully ways. Apply now for this wonderful dog! Virgil is a pit bull and can not be adopted into areas that have laws against this very misunderstood breed.
