Mr. Pulizzi had a lot of very important reminders that we as Bloggers sometime forget. Blogging is all about storytelling without the story there is not blog. Story telling sells plain and simple. People who enjoy your content will come back for more, they will share your content with others, and you will rank higher in the search engines. Let's face it in order to have a successful blog you need all of those things and if you can achieve those things merely by telling a compelling story then keep telling it!
However, before you can tell a story on your blog you need to figure out what your blogging goals are and be specific don't run all over the place just to follow a story create your story and stick with it. What is your CONTENT mission? What story do you want your blog to tell? How will you tell that story? Understand the experience you are bringing to your readers. Are you compelled by your content? Are you Blogging about what you stand for is the content authentic to you?
Some of us strive to grow and expand on a daily basis we know that good is never good enough. No Blogger should settle for good they should all be striving for bigger and better. Your content should be unique to your Blog. If 10 other Bloggers already covered it know that this post is not your unique story and strive to find it. That's not to say that you can't talk about the same thing as another Blogger because lets face it Bloggers Blog about issues brought to their attention and a lot of the time this issues are exposed by another Blogger. Make your content interesting look at it from a different angle make sure it is useful or fun for your readers.
