Paws for Japan: Veterinarian Visiting Evacuation Shelters to Treat Pets in Need

A man happy to finally be able to receive medical attention for his dog.
A Veterinarian from Sendai City in Japan has been going around to the local Shelters where families with their pets have found a place to stay so that he can offer medical attention to the animals who were injured in the Earthquake and subsequent Tsunami. In 2 days he has already treated 20 animals. In the areas worst hit by the Tsunami Evacuations Centers are so crowded with people that only small pets are able to stay with their owners, bigger dogs have been left in their owners yards or in their cars to keep they safe.

Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue and Relief along with WorldVets hopes to be making the trip to the Sendai area within the next two days in order to get those on the ground like the Veterinarian in the picture and others like him the supplies and food they are in such desperate need of. Fuel in these areas are in very short supply so those going in to help need to make sure they bring their own fuel supplies in order to get around.

I know that some of you are concerned about the horse that the lady had to leave behind when she fled. From what I understand the horse has been seen several times but I don't know if they have been able to move the horse to a more secure location or bring it proper food.
