Ancient Egyptian Puppymills

(National Geographic)
Apparently Puppy Mills and the horrible things that go on in them aren't a recent invention. It seems similar practices were taking place in Ancient Egypt during the time of Anubis. Most of the mummies found in what is now called Dog Catacombs basically hallways and chambers coming from Anubis' burial chamber. Most of the mummies are dogs, and many were just hours old when taken for mummification, according to new research based on a summer 2010 excavation funded by National Geographic.

The Dog Catacombs is said to be the burial place of 8 million animals mostly dogs who were badly mummified and not decorated like other specimens found in burial tombs. They are now just scattered bones piled 3 feet high in places. Even though they are in poor condition they can still give researchers a great deal of scientific information. The mummies were stacked between about the late sixth century B.C. and the late first century B.C.
