Dog Poisoned with Drugs and Alcohol at Teen's Party

Like many teens left alone when their parents or guardians go out of town, a student from Tamalpais High School in California threw a party that got completely out of control. It might not have been fatal had someone put the family dog a 15-year-old female pug named Coal into a separate room. Coal probably thought it was fun when the first few new friends came into the house and so was curious and hanging around with the teens instead of finding a quiet spot under a bed or in a room no one was going into.

During the party someone switched the family pugs water dish for a dish full of alcohol. Alcohol is toxic to dogs so that alone probably shocked the poor dogs system and she should have been taken to the emergency vet for help.

Then some students at the party thought it would be funny to get the dog high and so when they started smoking marijuana they brought the dog with them. It is suspected that the students placed the dog into a small confined space with the fumes. The combination of drugs and alcohol is suspected as the reason that Coal died.

Tamalpais High School Administration heard rumors going around school that Coal had died at the party and they contacted authorities to check into the matter. The humane society of Marin County is seeking witnesses to interview, and anyone with information is encouraged to call. If the allegations are confirmed, the suspects could face felony animal abuse charges.
