UPDATE Dog Rescued from Floating House After 3 Weeks!

For those of you who have been asking for an update on the dog that was found floating on the roof of its house three weeks after the Tsunami. Here is what I have been able to find out.

According to JEARS here is the translation of the video:
April 2, 9:18 p.m.

The dog rescued from the house roof adrift at sea on April 1st in Kessennuma Bay, Miyagi Prefecture, returned to port aboard a Japan Coast Guard patrol boat on April 2nd, and appeared to be well. The dog was discovered on April 1st adrift on the rooftop of a house on the open sea 1.8 kilometers from the City of Kessennuma by a Japan Coast Guard helicopter patrolling nearby, and was rescued by a special search and rescue team. He was brought aboard a patrol ship which came out to get him and returned to the Shiogama City Port at around 5:00 p.m.

The dog was brought off the ship by a female member of the Coast Guard, wrapped in a blanket, and was handed over to an employee from the Miyagi Prefecture Animal Care Center. A brown, medium-sized dog, he is thought to have been adrift in the ocean for the three weeks since the earthquake, but was able to stand up well and appeared healthy despite that. “The best thing would be to return him to his owner, so we would like to wait until the owner surfaces,” said the employee. She said the Animal Care Center will care for the dog until the owner appears, but said that a member of the Coast Guard had come forward with an offer to take the dog if the owner is not found.
