Last week we posted about walking your dog for its health and your health. Now we are asking you to make a pledge for your dogs health and well-being. How many miles will you pledge to walk your dog on a daily basis. How much exercise does your dog really need in order to be healthy and happy? Davinia and Indiana need to walk at least a mile a day but have no problem with 2 miles at a time even in the middle of the summer. Just because it is cold outside doesn't mean your dog should hibernate all winter so this is a perfect time to make this pledge to you and to them for your health.
GREENIES® JointCare has teamed up with veterinarian and triathlete Dr. Ernie Ward to launch the Wag & Walk 4 Life™ challenge to dog owners across America to walk with their pets. The benefits? Besides 120+ calories burned for each 30 minutes of dog walking, and studies that demonstrate lower blood pressure and lower cholesterol levels in dog owners, regular walking builds stronger bones, leaner muscles and healthier joints for both pet and pet owner.
The rewards of Wag & Walk 4 Life™ go well beyond health and mobility. The challenge is for pet owners to visit www.facebook.com/greenies and pledge to walk with their pet a certain distance each week. But once cumulative pledges reach a virtual walk around Earth—about 25,000 miles— GREENIES® JointCare Treats will begin monetary and in-kind donations to Englewood, CO-based Freedom Service Dogs to support the training camp that places a service dog with a disabled veteran who needs a mobility partner.
Greenies has asked that I pass along this coupon information to help keep your dogs (and cats) teeth healthy. Hey we all know that after a nice walk they expect a yummy treat this way you at least know it is helping keep their teeth clean.
