Canadian Airline Debate Cats on Planes

They're fighting like cats and dogs in Canada. That's where a debate is raging on whether felines should continue to be allowed in airplane cabins. With 10% of people allergic to cats, Canadian allergy specialists have argued that humans' right not to breathe cat dander should trump cat owners' right to transport their cats on planes.

For now, cats still are allowed on Canadian aircraft. In the U.S., all major carriers allow them. In Europe, a recent Swiss study found cat dander present on 100% of airline seats tested, even if no cat was aboard.
