Make a New Friend Tuesdays: The Painter Pack

Every Tuesday we introduce you to a new blogging friend. We know that Blog Hops can get overwhelming and you don't really get to know everyone you just want to be able to stop by to say hello to get to say hi to everyone on the list.

We came up with Make a New Friend Tuesdays. This way we can really get to know a bit about our new friends and everyone can drop by to say hello since its one blog once a week. Don't worry we will still be having Blog Hops this is just a bonus! This is a much more intimate way to get to know your fellow bloggers and introduce yourself to them. I love getting to actually spend a few minutes looking through their posts to see what their blog is all about and of course getting to see pictures!

Mya and SophieMeet our New Friends The Painter Pack

I'm 47 with a wonderful 18 year old son. We live in Georgia with our 5 dogs-Jack age 10, Coco age 6, Mya age 4, Jedi age 3, and T-Bone age 8 months. We also have our first cat, Sophia Belle age 8 months. I have been a dog rescuer on several occasions and have also fostered. I would love to do a whole lot more. I sincerely love animals more than most humans!

JackJack was our first boy, 10 years ago. He is a lab mix. Very loyal to my son but also very ferocious at times. Definitely the guard dog. However, in the past 2 years his health seems to have taken him down a few notches due to some arthritis. He may not be running through the house like before, but when needed, his teeth do the talking.

CoCo is MY girl! We got her and her litter mate Maxie Doodle from a "free puppy before they go to the pound" ad. Sadly, out Doodle passed away a year ago from seizures. We miss him very much. But CoCo is used to running the house. She has everyone wrapped around her paw! She is also very good at protecting the family. She's a shepherd mix, about 35 pounds, so she's not very big.

Next is Mya Boo Boo...the mouth piece of the Painter Pack! We rescued her from a back yard breeder who was getting out of the business. She and our first husky, Koova were soul mates. They truly loved each other. Together, they had one litter of beautiful puppies. Also, 14 months ago, Koova died suddenly in his crate at age 4. It absolutely devastated us, especially Mya. She has become more dominant and she and CoCo cannot EVER be out at the same time. They have drawn blood, theirs and ours, several times. Mya is a free spirit...she loves to ride int he car, but is very shy/scared of people. She's always been this way. We cannot take her on long walks or to PetSmart. We've tried. She is content to just sit back and run the house.

Jedi is Mya and Koova's first born son. We had initially found homes for all the pups, and still keep in contact. But this match was a bad choice for Jedi. The family turned out to be psycho, locking him in a small room for hours and hours, or in his crate. Then, when I told them I would take him back (because they said he was the one with problems) they told me only if I paid them $250 because he (as a puppy) had chewed their furniture. So, I paid. I had to get him back. It is still a struggle with him, even now. He HATES being crated, so we try to limit at all costs. He has some aggression toward food, and if he thinks you are going to hurt him, he will cower. But don't get me wrong. Jedi is the most loving and fun dog. He is the one who loves people and long walks! Loves PetSmart and car rides! He is especially fond of my son, but gets jealous when the other dogs are around.

Finally, our T-Bone. First (and only) border collie! Found him in Walmart parking lot...a lady was giving away the pups...he was the last one. T-bone is my ADHD dog. Seriously. He never gets tired, never focuses on one thing for more than 2 seconds, and barks all the time! But we love his little furry butt! He is so loving and has managed to be crate trained (for the most part)...He and Mya absolutely do zoomies in the house until the fur is flying! They are excellent playmates.

Oh, can't forget the cat. I've never been a cat person, but this little girl grabbed my heart. She's 8 months old and everyone gets along with her really well...except Jack and Jedi. Sophie stays in my bedroom and thinks the bed is hers! Well, her and Mya!
