Friday marked the start of the FCI World Agility Competition were the best of the best agility teams from every country get together to compete. The level that these competitors is on is unparalleled most all day every day for months and many are couches to their local clubs or have their own training schools. At a puppy match with Indiana when she was just 6 months old I got to watch a Papillion who was currently on the AKC World Team run a course it was magical.
At the time Indiana seemed interested in the equipment and watching the dogs do through the course but they told me she was too young to let her try out the equipment. Unfortunately by the time she was old enough to be allowed to join the local club we were leaving for Hong Kong so her Agility work ended with going through the tunnel a few times and trying out the weave poles once.
I still think Agility is one of the most amazing dogs sports to watch and so I have been following the AKC facebook updates about the event and wanted to share two of the pictures with all of you. I really wish there were more and I looked all over the internet but couldn't find any other pictures that were from this event. Have your dogs participated in any dog sports even if it wasn't at the competitive level? Have they been able to try out any equipment? Davinia likes to jump over obstacles so she might have enjoyed doing that competitively. Indiana is really just lazy and so her sport probably should have been obedience its my fault I didn't keep up her training but I think that is where she could have shined once she grew up a bit and was more relaxed and calm.
