While searching the internet for news stories this morning. I happened across an article about New Guinea Signing Dogs. I had never heard of them before and so it made me curious to see if I could at least find a picture of one. I was able to go better. Animal Planet featured them in one of their Dogs 101 Episodes which I in turn can share with all of you.
New Guinea Signing Dogs are a very rare wild breed of dog from New Guinea that apparently have lived closed off from the rest of the dog population for so long that they genetically are more primitive then our modern day dogs. To me they look very similar to Shiba Inus only slightly bigger with a straight instead of curled over tail.
